The Other Side of Kyoto is Marc Lanson's public notebook about northern Kyoto: Amanohashidate, Miyazu Bay, old roads, regional houses, local process, useful modernity, and the practical future of quieter places.

Marc is Australian and has been visiting the area for more than twenty years through family ties. The site includes personal field notes and a public case study about buying, designing, and building a house in regional Japan.

The writing here is intentionally small and specific: more field note than brochure, more practical memory than travel content.
