The Other Side of Kyoto is a personal notebook about northern Kyoto: Amanohashidate, Miyazu Bay, old roads, regional houses, and the practical future of quieter places.

I'm Marc. My wife is from this part of Japan, and I've been visiting for over twenty years. We recently finished building a house near the coast; the projects page has the full story.

The writing here is intentionally small and specific: more field note than brochure, more practical memory than travel content.
